Principles of Scouting

This I believe... A hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove. But, it will matter that the world may be different because I took the time to be important in the life of a young person. --- paraphrased; author unknown

WEBELOS... Did you miss Webelos Walkabout on September 27?
We' handed out our tri-fold PDF Flier and the PDF Webelos to Scouts Transition sheet. - hand this on the 'fridge where it's handy to help make your crossover into Boy Scouts easier!

Boy Scout Troop 315 in Olathe, Kansas is one of the largest Troops in our District. We meet on Monday nights at Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 15315 W 151st Street at 7:00 pm. Like most Troops, we meet year-round.

Our camping program includes a variety of Patrol-planned campouts, and Troop 315 has camped every month since its inception on March 15, 1993. We have three trailers with camping equipment and our Scouts plan, cook, and camp as Patrols on campouts. We attend summer camp at the H Roe Bartle Scouting Reservation in Missouri and we have attended high adventures at Philmont and Packard. Two crews will travel to SeaBase this summer.

Troop 315 emphasizes the Patrol Method in a Scout-run environment. Our new Scouts typically function in new-Scout Patrols. Older Scouts have the opportunity to reorganize their Patrols yearly, resulting in some age mixing. The Patrol Leaders' Council makes the decisions that run the Troop, and Patrols are responsible for the various parts of our Monday meetings, on a rotational basis.

We encourage new Scouts to come by and visit our Troop. Use the email link on the left to contact our Scoutmaster if you have any questions, or to let us know that you're coming by for a visit. In Scouting we always say, "If you don't choose our Troop, choose SOME Troop!" We believe in the values of Scouting and its benefit to the development of boys' knowledge, character, and judgment. We hope you'll be interested enough to find a Troop that is a match for you and give it a try!

To the right are links to the Scouting structure to which we belong. Feel free to visit those links for more information.

Congratulations to T315 for placing SECOND in the Siege of Mafeking Patrol competition at Camporee fall 2006!
